What would you do if your 13-Year-Old comes home and complains about the school teacher who keeps scolding her?
A very common situation that has been faced by each one of us during a journey of motherhood. But sometimes things take an unfortunate turn and result in the most troublesome event.
The mother of this 13-Year-Old, who hails from West Delhi, would have never imagined that her daughter would take the extreme step in reaction to the issues she was facing at school.
Last Saturday, the mother of this 13-YO discovered her daughter hanging from a ceiling fan in her room.Â
The girl had refused to go to the school that morning, and mother left for work. When she returned in the evening, she found her daughter hanging from a ceiling fan along with a one-page suicide note along with the contents scribbled on her arms too.
Though the family took the girl to the nearby hospital, it was too late to save her.
The mother told TOI that the daughter had shared the complaints about being constantly scolded by her biology teacher.
When she had returned on Friday, she was continuously crying.
“She told me that this teacher called her characterless in front of her class teacher. I promised to go to the school with her on Monday and talk to the principal.”, said the mother to TOI.
The suicide note also included the rebuke she went through in school, apart from informing the school authorities about her death.
It is saddening and heartbreaking to know that a day before ending her life, the girl had told her friends that she wouldn’t see them again. She even talked about committing suicide. When a friend told her that she would inform her mother, the girl pushed her friend to make a promise that she wouldn’t tell anyone.
A few days back, she had even asked her parents to change her school because of constant insults and scolding.
Now the story of this 13-YO committing suicide has not only shocked many parents, but has also made them beware of the dangers that kids are exposed to in the era of social media.
We know you are doing the best that you can do for your kids. But, in case your kids are undergoing any circumstances that are building stress over them, we would urge you not to ignore it.
Because sometimes the issue that feels harmless to you might harm your little angel in the worst way possible. Please take cautionary steps before its too late.Â
