In a recent incident in Mexico, a mob of angry villagers decided to take law into their own hands as they wanted to punish a man accused of raping and murdering a 6-year-old girl.
As per the reports, the man named Alfredo Roblero was set on fire in a small village in the southern state of Chiapas in Mexico. A recorded video has come to light in which one can see the mob beating the tied-up pedophile post which they set him on fire. The video has been doing the rounds on the Internet.
On January 9, the family of a six-year-old girl named Jarid, started looking for her as she went missing. It was only next day when the body of the young girl was found on the side of a road near her village. The villagers accused Roblero of the rape and death of the child.
As per The Sun, the girl’s aunt allegedly tried to take the suspect to the police beforehand, but the angry mob of villagers told her that he was not going to leave the community alive.
According to a report by Wearemitu.com, police officers from the city of Tapachulla already arrested the 37-year-old Roblero and had him inside their vehicle. However, the angry mob took the accused murderer out of the police vehicle and took him to a public park where the incident took place.
The police shared with ABSCBN that even though they tried to intervene, they were overpowered by the mob. However, Wearemitu mentioned that there were also some reports saying that the police did not try to stop the attack.
Police later issued an official statement condemning the attack on Roblero.
“State police officers later arrived on the scene with forensics experts from the Chiapas Attorney General’s Office (FGE) to investigate. The FGE said it would ‘not allow the public to carry out justice by its own hand.”
As per LatinTimes, lynching incidents are on the rise in Mexico in the past decade. Locals are reportedly becoming more desperate as criminals would often go unpunished “due to negligence or mismanagement of files and witness accounts.”
As we are witnessing a drastic increase in the cases of child rape and murder, it is disheartening to see what kind of world are we leaving behind for our young generation. What a sad world we have become where our kids are becoming prey to sex-deprived monsters.
At IFORHER, we hope authorities across the world would come forward to take strict actions and develop speedy procedures so that no parents have to bear the pain of losing a kid.
