In a shocking incident, a 62-year-old woman was strangled to death for trying to save her granddaughter from a man who tried to sexually assault her.
This heartbreaking incident took place in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district on Wednesday.
What Happened?
According to the police, the 15-year-old girl, whose parents died many years ago, was living with her grandmother. As per the locals, the 37-year-old accused was known to the victim’s family and had tried to assault the girl in the past too.
To protect her grand-daughter from the hands of this monster, the old woman would lock the house from outside.
On Wednesday night, the accused tried to break into their house and attempted to abuse the minor girl. As per Hindustan Times, the woman locked the house from outside and rushed out to seek help. It was then that the man allegedly dragged her and strangled her to death.

According to an eyewitness, the man later returned to the house but locals caught him and handed him over to the police.
