Trust is hard to gain but easy to lose.
When we, parents, send our children to school, we TRUST the school to protect them. However, when the school fails to protect our kids or dismiss parent’s concerns about the kid’s safety, we are left with no choice but to lose trust in the school administration.
This Children’s Day, a news appeared where parents lost their trust in the administration of Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School. The alleged incident took place between October 15 and 25 with the class 6 student as per the police.
As per the news reported by Business Standard, on Monday, the parents approached Shivajinagar police station to register the case against the art teacher of a Pune-based residential school for mercilessly beating a class 6 student.
This assault on the child has resulted in “facial paralysis” for the kid.
The report adds that the teacher asked the class to draw two paintings but the victim was unable to draw. This made the teacher angry and he started beating the kid brutally. The school authorities didn’t even inform the family of the injured student.
When the boy went home for Diwali celebrations, the parents of injured student noticed that his face was distorted and bruised. The boy shared the whole ordeal with his family. After hearing what their child had gone through, the family took note of the issue and informed it to school management.
School principal S Patil said Mr. Gade has been suspended.
“On November 3, we came to the school to take our child home for Diwali. However, we noticed some abnormalities in the left side of his face. Upon inquiring, our child told us that the teacher had hit him in the face and banged it against a bench for not completing an assignment” said the victim’s father.
He claimed that a doctor had said the child was suffering from facial paralysis. The family lives in Indapur area of Pune district, he informed.
As per the official from Shivaji Nagar police station,
“We arrested Sandeep Gade, the accused, late last night and produced him before a court today. The court sent him in police custody for two days.”
On this Children’s Day, the only question that any parent would be asking themselves is how can they keep their kids safe. Doesn’t matter if you have a son or a daughter, you always feel threatened about the safety of your kid. The kids’ safety is threatened not only by the polluted air but also by the predators waiting to take away their innocence.
