In another heart-wrenching incident, humanity failed yet another Indian daughter, who was brutally abused by a 33-year-old man in Delhi. Many across the nation were left shocked as the brutality faced by 12-year-old reminded of the gruesome 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape & murder case.
After the Nirbhaya gangrape case, the national capital is shamed once again as a 12-year-old girl met out similar torture for resisting rape. As per the sources, the 12-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times with a pair of scissors at her home in Peera Garhi area of Paschim Vihar in Delhi on Thursday.
According to various media sources, the minor girl is now battling for life at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi. The horrific incident happened on Tuesday when the girl was all alone at the time as her parents were at work.
Police have arrested one person in the case on Thursday evening.
According to reports, the accused has been identified as a 33-year-old man, who already has 4 criminal cases against him, including one for murder. As per the Joint Commissioner of Police Shalini Singh, the accused entered the house with an intention to loot. Police officials further stated:
The young girl was repeatedly hit by a sharp object on her head and face and she was lying in a pool of blood when her neighbours found her and informed her parents. After committing the crime, the accused fled the crime scene. The girl was first taken to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital and later shifted to AIIMS after preliminary treatment.
A senior police officer further shared:
We received information on Tuesday regarding the assault of a minor girl. An FIR under section 307 (attempt to murder) and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act has been registered and further investigation is underway.
As per Times Now, the girl has suffered serious injuries in her private parts and intestines. The girl also suffered fractures in the head and hips. Investigators claim that the girl fought the attacker until she fell unconscious.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the survivor in the hospital on Thursday and assured all the help that would be needed to ensure justice.
