If you are one of those desperate parents, who have sleepless nights because your daughter is unable to find a suitable groom, then you can not miss the story of this 22-year-old. It will definitely make you reconsider your priorities.
Should you worry more about your daughter’s marriage or her wellbeing & financial independence?
As per NDTV, a 22-year-old pregnant woman suffered a miscarriage after she was allegedly beaten up by her husband and in-laws in Maharashtra’s Thane district for dowry.
As per the police complaint, the woman shared that she got married to her husband, Navnath Mane, in 2015. And soon after the marriage, her in-laws started harassing her and demanded money from her parents.
But, things got worse when she became pregnant.
On December 2, her in-laws asked her to divorce her husband as they wanted to get him married to another woman. When the woman showed the courage to say ‘No’, what happened next will break your heart.
As per the police official, after refusing to give divorce, her husband and in-laws allegedly beat her up with a wooden log and belts. After the merciless beating, the woman further alleged that she was locked up in the bathroom for two days and made to starve.
On December 4, she pretended to be asleep and later escaped from the house. She directly went to her parents’ home in Thane and narrated her nightmare following which they asked her to lodge a police complaint.
But it was too late for her baby. By this time, she suffered a miscarriage due to physical and mental harassment, the official said.
Though five of her family members, including her husband, have been charged, the investigation is still on.
