What is the single most important responsibility of any FATHER? We are sure “Keeping The Kid Safe” would be the most common answer to this no-brainer question.
But what if rather than protecting kids, the father starts using a kid to take off his anger and desperation. Something similar happened in Gurugram, which made this story – the most heartbreaking story that we have published so far.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his OWN three-year-old daughter at home in Gurugram on Wednesday night.
As per the mother of two daughters, an argument happened between the couple, following which the accused, who was drunk profusely, started bashing her.
To save herself, the woman took her younger daughter, who is 4 months old and went to her relatives in the neighborhood.
But when she returned in the morning, what she found will make any person go numb.
The girl’s mother told the police,
“When I returned home in the morning, I found the girl bleeding from her private parts. She also had a high fever.”
The mother took the daughter to the hospital where doctors told her that the kid had been raped.
The mother further added,
“When doctors told me what had happened, I was shocked.”
After FIR was registered against the accused under Section 4 of the POCSO act, the accused was arrested. As per Yashwant Yadav, SHO of Sector 10-A police station,
“The accused, who works as a diver, initially denied the allegations but later confessed. He will be produced in a city court on Friday.”
Though we hope that the accused if found guilty, should get the hardest punishment possible, we would like to focus on one more aspect of the problem.
Doesn’t matter whether it was Nirbhaya Case or Jessica Lal Murder Case or this particular case, no one can deny the involvement of alcohol in these crime stories.
We wonder why the people whom we elect spend their energy and money in building statues rather than the policies that could handle this grave issue of alcohol addiction.
Alcohol doesn’t kill the person – it kills the families; it kills the society; it makes humans lose consciousness, which leads to heinous and heartwrenching crimes like these.
