Kangana Ranaut recently came forward to show her disappointment with the senior lawyer Indira Jaising’s statement for urging Delhi gang-rape victim’s mother to forgive the convicts. She also suggested why these rapists need to be hanged in public for the greater good.
Recently famous and renowned Indian lawyer, Indira Jaising, had urged Nirbhaya’s mother to follow the example of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who forgave the woman, Nalini Murugan, convicted for the assassination of her husband Rajiv Gandhi. In her tweet Jaising mentioned:
“While I fully identify with the pain of Asha Devi I urge her to follow the example of Sonia Gandhi who forgave Nalini and said she didn’t want the death penalty for her. We are with you but against death penalty,”
Reacting to her tweet on forgiving the convicts, the heartbroken and disappointed Nirbhaya’s mother Asha Devi who had been fighting for seven long years to send her daughter’s killers to the gallows, replied,
“…Even if god comes and asks me to forgive them, I will not. People like these (Jaising) are a blot on the society.”
Commenting on Jaising’s tweet, she said:
“Who is she to tell or suggest to me to forgive them. What relation does she have with me. I have nothing to do with such people. She can be a relative of those (the convicts) that she is having a soft corner for.”
“She is an insult to women. She is running a business in the name of human rights. She is a veteran, she should give a message to the society. But she instead will go against her own kind,”.
And, now Kangana Ranaut has also criticized Jaising for asking Nirbhaya’s mother to forgive her daughter’s rapist. During her promotion for Panga when Kangana Ranaut was asked her thoughts on Indira Jaising, she lashed out and said:
“That lady (Jaising) should be kept in jail with those convicts for four days…Women like them give birth to these kind of monsters and murderers.”

Kangana further added why she believes that the four rapists need to be hanged in public:
“Mujhe nahi lagta inn logon ko chup-chaap maar dena chahiye. Aise maarne ka kya faayda, jab aap example hi na set kar paaye? Unn logon ko chaurahe pe hang karna chahiye (I don’t think these rapists should be hanged silently. What is the point of capital punishment, if you cannot set an example? They should be hanged in public),”
Supporting Kangana’s statement on this, Nirbhaya’s mother said,
“I agree with Kangana Ranaut’s statement. I am glad she has reacted to this disgusting remark by Indira Jaising. I am a mother and all I want is justice for my daughter who passed away 7 years back. People like Indira Jaising run ‘human rights’ business and only support the culprits.”
At IFORHER, we are eagerly waiting for the February 1, 6 AM, when these monsters will be hanged and Nirbhaya & her family will get justice after 7 years-long legal battle. With the increasing case of sexual abuse against women and children, it is very important for our society to learn a lesson from these hangings. We hope the capital punishment of these four convicts will make many more to think twice before committing such a crime.
