As the whole nation is celebrating National Girl Child Day, the story of this 3-week-old baby girl will make you wonder if celebrating such days drive any change in the mindset of people?
While many of us were wrapped comfortably under a thick blanket to survive record-breaking cold weather, a 3-week-old baby girl was fighting for her life.
Since time immemorial, north India has struggled with the various issues of crime against women – be it female foeticide or domestic abuse or sexual abuse. Thanks to the orthodox and patriarchal society, people have a rotten mentality of believing that women are the burden on their parents, on their husbands and on society!
Given that mentality, it doesn’t shock us at all that a baby girl, who is just three-weeks-old, was buried alive.
It happened on Friday evening when the temperature actually dropped to just three degrees Celsius. But as they say, when God is with you no threat can even touch you!
When the residents in Uttar Pradesh, heard the cries of the infant on Friday evening, they quickly dug her out.
Without wasting much of time, she was rushed to a government hospital. One of the residents, Dharmendra Kumar, who first heard the baby’s cries, told The Daily Mail Online:
“I was passing through the area at half past seven when I heard a baby crying. The sound of her cries led me to the spot. I quickly dig up the earth and found her alive. I took her to the nearby government hospital and later informed the police.”
Dharmendra further added about his views on the incident:
“It is such a cruel act. I cannot believe how can a person abandon the baby in this cold weather.”
Within no time, cops discovered the infant’s parents, who buried their third-born on the instructions of an occultist (Tantrik). Apparently, the Tantrik had told them that the infant was possessed by evil spirits.
As shared by Police they have arrested the father, the aunt, her husband, and the occult while the mother remains on the run.
Adding the further details, Superintendent Subhash Chandra Shakya said:
“The baby was buried alive by her maternal aunt after she was asked to do so by the parents of the baby. This step was taken on the advice of a Tantrik who had claimed that the baby girl was possessed and her presence at home could destroy their life.”
The merciless act of burring a 3-week-old baby makes us wonder if it was the baby girl or the family themselves who were possessed by evil powers?

We are definitely sure this 3-week-old is blessed. While she recovers in the hospital, we pray she soon gets a family that deserves her and gives her all the love, respect and care that she deserves.
