Money and Power are the worst enemies of justice. And, recently a 25-YO mentally challenged woman became their victim.
As per India Today TV, Mumbai police refused to register the alleged rape of case of a 25-year-old mentally challenged woman by a 77-year-old powerful real estate agent.
The police tried to save the 77-YO, identified as Mohammad Mushtakin Khan.
But, due to pressure and intervention of higher authorities, after two days of the incident, the police finally filed an FIR and arrested the accused.
As shared by India Today, the woman stays with her uncle and aunt in Central Mumbai. Her parents stay in Tamil Nadu and since childhood, she has been with her uncle and aunt.
The accused knows the woman’s uncle very well and used to visit their house often. He even brought things to eat for the woman.
On Saturday, the accused called the woman to Sion station in Mumbai. He booked a cab on the pretext of sightseeing and delicious food and took her to Grant Road area. Sadly, here is when he booked a lodge and allegedly raped her.
The mentally challenged woman shared with India Today TV,
“He on the pretext of Mumbai darshan took me to a room and raped me. He later told me to get down at Sion station.”
Instead of reaching Sion, the woman reached Dombivali station which is in the outskirts of Mumbai. At the railway station, when she was inconsolable, the railway police reached out to her.
The woman’s uncle and aunt reached Dharavi police station to file a complaint but no FIR was registered. In fact, the accused was brought to the police station but was let go after a mere warning.
It was only after pressure and intervention from senior cops, the Dharavi Police filed an FIR and arrested the accused.
The increasing number of rape cases show how our social DNA has degraded.
A man without morals is like a wild beast loosed upon the world, who will destroy everyone to please his own pleasures. It doesn’t matter to a beast whether she is a 40-year-old woman or a 4-year-old girl or whether she is a mentally challenged.
