After Rewari, it’s Kapurthala that failed miserably at safeguarding a woman from the predators.
As per India Today, a shocking case has been reported in Kapurthala district, where a 24-year-old woman was gang-raped by 10 men on 2 different occasions on the same night.
And, what makes it more horrifying is that the victim knew the accused. The woman was abused in Lakhanpur Khole and Dayalpur villages of Kapurthala district in Punjab on October 10.
Speaking to India Today TV, police said they have arrested four of the 10 accused. The rest are absconding.
“We have registered a case of gangrape and have arrested four out of 10 accused. The rest are on the run. We have formed teams to arrest them.”, said Station House Officer.
As per the complaint filed by the woman, it all started 5 months ago – when she met a man called Bholu. He is not only a drug addict but also lured her into taking drugs. With time, she was introduced to a drug peddler named Sonu, who roped her int drug peddling rackets active in the region.
The woman was staying in a room rented from Sonu’s friend Siri, who organized a birthday party at his home and invited his friends.
[ifh_news_form]On the same night (October 10), Siri and his friends gang-raped the woman in the nearby fields.
In order to keep herself safe, the woman took shelter in the house of another acquaintance – Satpal Singh.
However, to the woman’s horror, Satpal and three of his friends gang-raped her again.
After the complaint was registered against the accused, the medical examination at a local hospital confirmed that she was assaulted by the accused.
The question that we have is how sex-deprived our society is, that the same woman is gang-raped twice on the same night by 10 men?
