In a heart-wrenching incident, a five-year-old was allegedly raped and left bleeding by three minor boys in Rajasthan’s Baran district.
As per the PTI report, the five-year-old was playing outside of her house on Friday evening. It was then three minor boys in the neighborhood approached her. They promised to give her a Rs 5 coin and later took turns to rape her in a nearby field.
The senior police officer Dalpat Singh told PTI that at the time of the incident, the mother was cooking inside the house. When the family members realized that the girl was missing, they started searching for her. During the search, the mother spotted the girl crying and bleeding near their home.
Later that night, the mother went to the police station with her daughter and filed a complaint.
The three accused boys are missing and the police officers are still searching for them. As per Indiatimes, there is a likelihood that the minor boys could be tried as adults for the heinous crime. If tried as an adult, the convict can get maximum imprisonment of up to 20 years. Even in the past, several minors accused and found guilty in heinous crimes such as rapes have been tried as adults under the Indian Penal Code.
As per the Women and Child Development ministry, the juveniles in the age bracket of 16 to 18 years, who have committed heinous crimes should not have the protection of the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act.
The whole nation was heartbroken when exploiting the clause of the juvenile act, the rape accused were set free in Nirbhaya rape case.
It is a matter of shame that how young boys have started preying on young kids. If it doesn’t shock us how this 5-year-old innocent kid was made the victim of the sex-deprived society, then we are definitely doomed.
Given such incidents, we will leave you with the thought of whether as a country we even deserve girls.
