Once again, humanity failed an Indian daughter as a 45-year-old father allegedly raped his own daughter twice with the help of his wife.
As per Times Of India, this shocking incident happened in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh. What is heartbreaking is the fact that the man allegedly raped his daughter to teach her a lesson for having a relationship with local youth. As per the reports, it was the survivor’s sister, who rescued her.
The accused, a retired School Education Department Officer, and his wife have denied the charges.
As per the police report, the 18-yo survivor is the youngest of the three daughters of the couple. The victim was raped twice by his father within 16 days of the COVID-19 lockdown. The police had arrested the accused and his wife after the initial inquiry.
The heartbreaking incident happened first on March 26. The father tied her to the bed while mother stuffed a piece of cloth into her mouth. She stood mute spectator while he raped saying it would only make things less painful after marriage, said sources.
Again, on April 10, the father took her back home from her aunt’s place where she was hiding from her family and raped her again. She narrated her trauma to her elder sister, who finally rescued the victim.
Without ado, the elder sister called 1098, toll-free number operated by Crime against Women Cell. Subsequently, the police recorded the statement and arrested the accused.
Morena SP Asit Yadav told Times of India,
“We have detained the couple following her complaint. Her statement would be recorded before the magistrate”.
He further added,
“Parents have a different version. We will have to seize corroborative evidences including the clothes she has worn on the day she was raped.”
The collector of Morena district, Priyanka Das said in a TV interview,
“The incident of teacher raping his own daughter is shameful.”
It is heartbreaking to see how this girl lived a nightmare as her own family turned into her abusers. At IFORHER, we pray for strength for this young daughter and hope she would soon get justice.
