No one can deny that we live in a doomed society. The society where a 24-year-old man doesn’t hesitate to kidnap and rape a two-year-old girl.
In a shocking case, a two-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a man, who left her near the tracks of the old Delhi Railway Station.
As per the police officials, the mother of 2-year-old found her daughter missing around 2.30 am on Saturday while they were sleeping on the footpath. When she couldn’t find her she approached the police. After hearing her, the police registered a kidnapping case.
Around noon, the police learned that a baby girl had been admitted to a hospital in central Delhi. The victim was identified by her mother.
The police further added that the 2-year-old was sexually assaulted and the accused dumped her near the railway tracks. She was rescued by a team of police.
“Police questioned people living on the footpath as they suspected the accused was homeless,” said a police officer.
According to news agency PTI, The police identified the accused by scanning CCTV footage. The accused is a 24-year-old drug addict, named Anil. Reportedly, he used to collect garbage for a living and also worked as a waiter during wedding season.
What kind of a nation are we if we can’t protect a 2-year-old?
Some people would love to believe that it could never happen to their kids as they live in a better neighborhood. But the truth is that it could happen to anyone.
Because to a man who has lost his conscience, it doesn’t matter who is his next victim – you, me or our kids.
