In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old woman killed her own two-year-old granddaughter in Malad, Mumbai. She allegedly threw her sleeping granddaughter from the sixth-floor of a building.
On Saturday, the whole Appa Pada locality was woken up to the painful cries of the parents of a two-year-old baby girl as she was found dead in the premises of the building, where the family stays.
When the locals found the body of 2-year-old, they informed the family who stayed on the 6th flor of the SRA building.
After hearing the shocking news, the parents ran downstairs within in no time and found their baby girl lying in the pool of blood. The innocent 2-year-old was lifeless with her head completely smashed to the ground.
Initial investigation started with the suspect that the baby girl would have accidentally fallen off the window while family members were asleep. But, there were multiple inconsistencies that raised police suspicion.
As per the investigation, the police officials found that the minor girl had fallen where the flat’s window was located. But the window was found shut when the body was found. The police also found that the main door of the house was locked from inside in the morning.
As per India Today, the police conducted a detailed probe and questioned many people including the family members. As per the senior police official:
“The initial questioning of the family members did not yield any results so some of them were questioned again and this time the victim’s grandmother, who was her father’s step-mother, changed her statement.”
The police official further added:
“The grandmother – who was later found to be accused – kept changing her statement and wanted to avoid questions which raised suspicion.”
But after a while, when grandmother Ruksana Obedulla Ansari was grilled again a shocking heart-wrenching revelation happened that shook the family members.
The police official shared:
“Ruksana Obedulla Ansari was again grilled and she later revealed that she had thrown the kid as she had a fight with her daughter-in-law – the victim’s mother.”
As per the police, Ruksana used to often fight with the victim’s mother. And, to teach her daughter-in-law a “lesson”, she threw her kid from the sixth-floor of the building.
As per India Today, the police shared:
“Ruksana would regularly get into fights with her daughter-in-law and to teach her a lesson, she threw off her granddaughter while the victim’s mother and other family members were asleep on Saturday morning and went back to sleep again,”
Though Ruksana has been taken into custody and has been booked for murder, our heart pains for the parents who lost their 2-year-old baby. It is heart-breaking how a grandmother could do that to her own grand-daughter.
At IFORHER, we are mourning the death of this baby girl, we pray that these young parents would get enough strength to bear this grave loss!
