We were still mourning the death of Hyderabad veterinary doctor. A group of men set the woman, who survived a brutal rape some time ago, ablaze in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao on Thursday.

As per India Today, the 20-year-old woman who survived a brutal rape by 5 men in March, is now paying the price of her courage to fight for dignity.
The horrific incident happened when she was on her way to Rai Bareilly for the court hearing in the rape case. She was reportedly alone at the time of the incident, and this is when the accused men attacked her. While she struggles for her life, you would be heartbroken to know that the men who had raped her earlier this year, are suspected to be behind the attempt to kill her.
The rape accused and his friends took this brave woman into the fields outside her village and doused her in petrol before setting her on fire.
Later when police rushed to the spot, they found her in a severely burnt condition while the accused men had fled by then. Given the criticality of the situation, the police rushed her to a nearby government hospital. She was admitted in a critical condition. Later, she was referred to a Lucknow hospital as her condition was grave. This horrific incident has caused tension in the Hindunagar village in Unnao.

The police could manage to arrest only three of the accused and two others are still on the run.
As per the India Today, Police said,
“The victim has been referred to a hospital in Lucknow for better treatment. We have rounded up 3 accused, search is on for 2 others. The victim had earlier filed a rape case and one of the accused in that case has also been rounded up.”
One of these five men is the son of the village pradhan against whom the woman had lodged a rape complaint. It was on March 4, when an FIR was lodged by the woman as she wanted to fight for her dignity.
At IFORHER, we hang our head in shame as we wonder how miserably our authorities failed this daughter. Firstly, they failed to protect her from the clutches of these sex-deprived monsters; and later when she raised her voice to fight for herself and every daughter of this country, they couldn’t stop these monsters from burning her down.
We pray for this brave daughter’s recovery and hope our authorities will give these culprits the harshest punishment. We wonder if every daughter is burnt down for raising her voice, then
How will we ever trust the authorities again?
How should we tell our little girls to fight for their rights?
For how long, will we keep failing our daughters?
