In a recent shocking incident, 52 teachers of a private school in Meerut, UP have come forward against their management ill practices. As per Times Now, teachers have told police that the school management was secretly filming them inside the school toilets.
As per the teachers, the school authorities were blackmailing them with the footage for months to make them work without salary.
As per TOI, on Wednesday the police have registered an FIR against the secretary of the management committee and his son for alleged sexual harassment. The father and son were booked under IPC sections 354 (a) (sexual harassment), 354 (c) (voyeurism), and 504 (intentional insult) at Meerut’s Sadar Bazaar police station. In the evening, the secretary’s son was arrested.
As per the filed FIR, these 52 teachers have alleged that whenever they demanded the pending salaries, the secretary would threaten them with the objectionable images caught on CCTV.
The secretary has currently denied sexual harassment charges, though he accepted that the teachers haven’t been paid salaries for the last few months. As per TOI, he said:
“The sexual harassment allegations are absolutely false. It is true that we were unable to pay salaries for the last few months due to the prevailing situation,”
He further added:
“There is no CCTV inside the women’s toilet. But they have been installed in the gents’ toilets. This was done against the backdrop of recent cases of murder inside some schools,”
A case has been registered and the investigation is underway, Sadar Bazar Police Station SHO Vijay Gupta said that a team of officials from the forensic department has been roped in to provide assistance to the police in the investigation.
Though the investigation is still on, it is heartbreaking how teachers who work really hard to build the future of our country, have to bear such extreme financial and emotional pain. We hope the authorities would look into the matter and these teachers would be soon delivered justice.
