In a heartbreaking incident, a husband mercilessly beat his 24-year-old wife. Her fault: She defeated him in an online Ludo game, consecutively for 3-4 rounds.
According to a report by TOI, in order to keep her husband indoors, the wife convinced her husband to play Ludo on the phone. He agreed to play the game, but when he lost to his wife repeatedly for multiple rounds, he mercilessly beat her up leading to serious spinal injuries. This shocking incident, that happened in Vadodara, left many heartbroken and disgusted.
The woman, who is a tuition teacher, was beaten so mercilessly that she had to be hospitalized. According to the doctors, the woman has developed a gap between two of her vertebrae.
Though the woman decided to go to her parents’ home after receiving treatment, the husband was counseled by the members of 181 Abhayam, a women helpline launched by the Gujarat government.
Speaking to TOI, the counselor said:
“A sore loser, he started arguing with with his wife and the verbal duel turned ugly. He started beating her with such ferocity that the woman developed a gap between two of her vertebrae. His ego was hurt thinking that wife outsmarted him and was more intelligent as she also contributed to the family income.”
As the counselors warned the man about the consequences of this act, he apologized to his wife.
But the bizarre fact that no police action was taken against this beast left many netizens angry and shocked. He was set free after counseling.

Lockdown Effect On Domestic Violence
It is heartbreaking to see how lockdown has hit women with abuse, overwork, and pain. In tough times like these, it is sad and depressing how women are facing the ugly face of our patriarchal society.
In order to handle the increasing cases of domestic violence during the coronavirus lockdown period, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has launched a WhatsApp number to report cases of domestic violence.
@NCWIndia have launched a ‘WHATSAPP NUMBER’ for help & assistance to women experiencing #DomesticViolence at wake of #Covid19Lockdown.
