August and September were record-breaking months for Bollywood, thanks to movies like ‘Jawan,’ ‘Gadar,’ and ‘OMG 2’ which raked in substantial collections at the box office. While these two months shone brightly for Bollywood, October appears lackluster in comparison. Despite a plethora of movie releases scheduled for October, it’s disheartening to see that many of them are struggling to pique the audience’s interest. Here are five Bollywood movies slated for release in October that seem to be lacking excitement.
1. Mission Raniganj
Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film, “Mission Raniganj,” is scheduled to be released on October 6, 2023. The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra, and Ravi Kishan, with a storyline loosely based on the Raniganj Coalfields Collapse of 1989 in West Bengal. Despite the intriguing plot, there seems to be a lack of excitement among fans, primarily due to Akshay Kumar’s approach of appearing in 5-6 films a year, which has led to dwindling interest among the audience.
2. Thank You For Coming
“Thank You For Coming” is an upcoming sex comedy set to be released on October 6, 2023. The movie features Bhumi Pednekar, Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila, and Shibani Bedi as lead characters. Despite boasting a star-studded cast, the movie has garnered little interest from the audience.
3. Ganpath
After a series of repetitive and disappointing films like Heropanti 1, 2 and Baghi 1, 2, 3, Tiger Shroff has left fans somewhat disinterested in “Ganpath.” The movie, set to release on October 20, 2023, stars Kriti Sanon, who has already appeared in three films this year—Bhediya, Shehzada, and Adipurush—none of which managed to make a significant impact at the box office.
4. Dono
“Dono” is an upcoming Hindi comedy-drama starring Rajveer Deol and Paloma Dhillon. It tells the story of two lovers and their journey of falling in love, slated for release on October 5th. However, the movie has garnered minimal attention from the audience.
5. Aankh Michoni
Starring Abhimanyu Dasani, Mrunal Thakur, and Paresh Rawal, “Aankh Michoni” revolves around a family of misfits attempting to hide secrets from a prospective NRI suitor and his family. They aim to marry their daughter to a well-to-do NRI gentleman. Despite its October release, the movie has failed to generate significant interest among potential viewers.
