While Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan may have failed to live upto the hype and left the fans disappointed, we are very hopeful about the coming week. The last week of April is full of surprises as there are many interesting movies releasing this weekend – both on OTT and in theatres. This week not only much-awaited Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be hitting theatres but also Irrfan Khan’s last movie Song of Scorpions will be screened in cinema halls. Along with these masterpieces, there are many entertaining releases that span across different genres. Here are the new movies releasing on OTT and theatres this week that we are excited about:
The Song of Scorpions

Movie Plot: An ancient myth in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan suggests that a scorpion sting can result in death in under 24 hours, and the only known cure is a special song sung by a scorpion singer that neutralizes the venom. The Song of Scorpions revolves around the tale of a tribal woman named Nooran (played by Golshifteh Farahani) who takes lessons from her grandmother Zubaida (played by Waheeda Rehman) to become a scorpion singer herself.
Despite facing a personal tragedy and rejection from her village community, Nooran receives a marriage proposal from Aadam (played by Irrfan Khan), a camel trader who has been enamored by her voice since he first heard it. However, Nooran’s life takes another unfortunate turn after her marriage, and she is driven to seek vengeance against those who have wronged her. As this is Irrfan Khan’s last movie, many people are super-excited about the release.
U-Turn

Movie Plot: Hindi remake of south thriller U-Turn stars Alaya F in the leading role. The movie revolves around a journalist named Radhika, who is working on a story about bike riders violating traffic on a city flyover. But things take an unexpected turn as she becomes a suspect in the murder of one of the motorists. This captivating supernatural thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum

Fahad Faasil starrer Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum is an upcoming Malayalam movie scheduled to be released on 28 April, 2023. The movie is directed by Akhil Sathyan and will feature a talented star cast – Fahadh Faasil and Anjana Jayaprakash as lead characters. The story revolves around a middle-class man who is settled in Mumbai and all the crazy incidents that take place on his journey to Kerala.
Bad Boy

The movie stars the youngest son of Mithun Chakraborty – Namashi Chakraborty in the lead role. The movie is about a middle-class, undisciplined boy falling in love with a highly educated girl who belongs to a disciplined and traditional family. It follows the struggles of this young couple as they try to make their relationship work against all odds.
Ponniyin Selvan – 2 [PS-2]
