1. Gumraah

Directed by Vardhan Ketkar, “Gumraah” is an upcoming Hindi movie set to release on April 7th, 2023. Starring Aditya Roy Kapur, Mrunal Thakur, Ronit Roy, and Vedika Pinto in lead roles, the film is a Hindi adaptation of the critically acclaimed Tamil movie “Thandam,” which was directed by Maghizh Thirumeni and released in 2019.
The story follows a murder investigation of a young man that takes a mind-bending turn when the cops discover a prime suspect with a lookalike. With a compelling storyline and talented cast, “Gumraah” is sure to captivate audiences just like its Tamil counterpart.

2. Jubilee

Vikramaditya Motwane-directed Amazon Original series Jubliee will premiere on April 7, streaming platform Prime Video. The 10-episode fictional drama is set against the backdrop of the golden age of Indian cinema. Jubilee is a thrilling, yet poetic tale woven around an ensemble of characters and the gambles they’re willing to take, in pursuit of their dreams, passion, ambition, and love. It features an ensemble cast led by Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sidhant Gupta, Nandish Sandhu, and Ram Kapoor.
3. Shaakuntalam
Release date: April 14 | Where to watch? Theatres
Featuring Samantha and Dev Mohan in the lead role, the movie is about Shakuntala, the daughter of Vishwamitra and nymph Meneka. Shakuntala meets King Dushyant, and the two falls in love and gets married. They have a child, but Dushyant forgets all about Shakuntala due to a sage’s curse until destiny brings them together again. The movie will be released in theatres on the 14th of April.

4. Tooth Fairy: When Love Bites

Dancer and actor Shantanu Maheshwari, who played Afsan in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi, released last year, is going to make his/her OTT debut. Shantanu will soon be seen in the web series Tooth Fairy: When Love Bites. In this series, Tanya Maniktala, who was seen in A Suitable Boy, will also be seen in the lead role along with Shantanu
The story of this series is set in Kolkata. Full of romance and mystery, the connection of humans and vampires in the Tooth Fairy: When Love Bites series makes the story even more special.
5. Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan
Release date: April 21 | Where to watch? Theatres
Salmaan Khan starrer, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is expected to hit theatres on 21st April 2023. This action comedy film is directed by Farhad Samji and is produced by Salman Khan Films. The plot showcases the eldest brother who refuses to marry since he believes it may create disharmony in his big family. His brothers, who’ve already found partners, come together to find a match for Salman Khan’s character. Pooja Hegde will be seen as Salman’s love interest and this is the first time that the two will be seen opposite each other.

6. Ponniyin Selvan: Part-2
Release date: April 28 | Where to watch? Theatres
After the immense success of part-1, the team of Ponniyin Selvan is returning with a sequel. Directed by Mani Ratnam Ponniyin Selvan – Part 2 features Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, and Aishwarya Bachchan in prominent roles. The movie is expected to release on 28th April in theatres.

7. Citadel
Where to watch: Amazon Prime Video | Release date: April 28
Starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas & Richard Madden, the much-awaited science fiction action thriller series will be released on Amazon Prime Video on April 28. The series is about the global spy agency Citadel, which has fallen and the memory of its agents has been erased. Now, the powerful Manticore crime syndicate is filling the power vacuum. Citadel agents must remember their past and find the strength to fight back.
The series includes spinoffs in different countries and languages. As per Amazon, “All of the local series are meant to enhance the entire entertainment experience and will be available for the viewer to deep dive into an imagined layered world.
