2. I AM Groot Season 2 (Disney + Hotstar – September 5)

3. The Little Mermaid (Disney + Hotstar – September 6)
When mermaid princess Ariel saves Prince Eric from a shipwreck, she starts dreaming about life above water with him. To fulfill her wish, she agrees to a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula to trade her voice for human legs—the Rob Marshall directorial stars Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Awkwafina and Daveed Diggs, among others.
4. Haddi (Zee5 – September 7)
Haddi is a hard-hitting noir revenge drama directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, which stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Anurag Kashyap and Ila Arun in lead roles. The movie follows a transgender who moves from Allahabad to Delhi to join a gang of transgenders and cross-dressers. The plot takes an interesting twist when an influential man kills the head of the group, after which Haddi decides to avenge her death.
5. Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knights (Netflix – September 7)
The makers of Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knights are back with a new and exciting season where Po and the Dragon Knights meet an English Knight who helps them find and destroy the magical Tianshang weapons. Other than this, some interesting titles to look out for this week are The Nun II, Haddi, Lokkhi Chhele, Jawan and more.
6. Jailer (Prime Video – September 7)
Prime Video has set September 7 as the digital premiere date of superstar Rajinikanth’s latest movie Jailer. Produced by Sun Pictures and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer stars Rajinikanth in the lead role. Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan, Tamannaah, and Master Ritvik round out the cast. The film also features special cameos from Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar, and Bollywood star Jackie Shroff.Â
The story centers on a retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandiyan (Rajinikanth), who goes on a manhunt to find his son’s killers. As he navigates the shadows of his son’s world, Muthuvel’s determination is put to the test, leading him through a complex and familiar path. 7. The Nun II (Theatres – September 7)
Set four years after the first part (The Nun), filmmaker Michael Chaves’ The Nun II follows Sister Irene, who faces Valak, a demon, again at a boarding school in France. The ninth installment in the popular horror movie franchise stars Storm Reid, Anna Popplewell, Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet and Bonnie Aarons. The English horror drama could give Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara’s Jawan a good competition at the box office.
8. Jawan (Theatres – September 7)
Directed by Atlee, Jawan tells the story of a former commando who sets out to rectify societal wrongs with the help of six well-trained women. During one of his missions, he discovers that he has a son, a dutiful police officer. He then sets out to protect his son, a dangerous arms dealer, from Kalee. The action thriller (Jawan) stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles. The movie has already opened to great opening and is expected to create many box-office records in the coming weeks.
