As per sources, yesterday, the number of new coronavirus cases in India hit a record daily high – over 2 lakh infections reported in a day. On the very same day, actor Pooja Bedi shared a video that not only screamed of privilege but was also stupid and careless amid the increasing COVID-19 cases in the country.
Pooja Bedi, who is currently spending time with her fiancé Maneck Contractor in Goa, shared a video on Twitter account with the caption: “life is meant to be lived…not spent caged and masked for a year/ years in fear of a virus that’s clearly not going away!”
With her video, Pooja wrote,
“Joys of living in healthy, happy #goa . Free your mind #NoFear Life is meant to be lived.. not spent caged and masked for a year/ years in fear of a virus that’s clearly not going away! If you died tomorrow after year of masking/lockdown.. what would ur greatest regret be?”

Free your mind #NoFear
Life is meant to be lived…❤ not spent caged and masked for a year/ years in fear of a virus that’s clearly not going away!

In the midst of increasing COVID-19 cases, lack of hospital beds, & overstressed doctors, this tweet didn’t sit well with the many users. One user commented:
Ma’am people are dying of covid complications every day.check your privilege. God bless you.

My biggest regret would be not slapping covidiots so hard that they end up in another dimension

My greatest regret would be this comment. देश जाए भार में लोग मरते है मरने दो हमको कौन सा फर्क पड़ता है मेरे पास पैसे बहुत है हम तो बच जाएंगे।

Such an ignorant thing to say. Does she think everyone can afford a vacation in Goa to getaway from covid

But Pooja is not the only celebrity who has taken to social media to show off her privilege. There are many celebrities who are posting their vacation pictures in the Maldives, while many are struggling to keep their loved ones safe.
While talking about celebrities sharing their vacation pictures online, actor Amit Sadh said that “some celeb profiles are startlingly disconnected from reality”. He also mentioned that “the privileged lot should be more sensitive at this time, and not rub their privilege in people’s faces.”
“Is Brad Pitt showing you that he is on an exotic island while the rest are battling corona? No, right? There’s so much suffering around and how can you pretend that it’s all okay because it hasn’t affected you? This has been on my mind for weeks. Everything is fake, where’s the place for simplicity?” he said.
In times when many families are battling with Corona, layoffs, and much more, we hope celebrities would understand the power of their influence and use it wisely.
