As our country is working hard to stop the spread of the virus, it is heartbreaking to see how some people are behaving in a reckless manner. One such person is singer Kanika Kapoor, best known for her songs – Baby Doll and Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan.
As per India Today, Kanika Kapoor has tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Friday. She has been admitted to the King George’s Medical University (KGMU) hospital in Lucknow.
According to a tweet by ABP News Editor Pankaj Jha, she returned from London a few days ago and hid the fact that she had traveled from abroad.
As per sources, on arriving in Lucknow Kanika hosted a lavish party for her friends and family at a five-star hotel. Many bureaucrats, politicians, and socialites attended this party.
The singer stayed in a sprawling apartment in Lucknow. Medical officials are now unsure of the method that should be observed to quarantine the entire building where the singer stayed and also subject the guests at the party to tests, news agency IANS reports.
Even the news agency ANI, without naming the singer, had mentioned an hour ago that Kanika is one of the four people who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh today.
While speaking to Aaj Tak, Kanika’s father Rajiv Kapoor shared that she attended three parties after arriving in Lucknow from London.
“Six of us in our family are undergoing tests today at 4 pm. Kanika has attended three parties after her arrival. She came in contact with around 350-400 families in three parties. Along with Kanika, we are also in isolation.”
Rajiv Kapoor, however, denied reports of Kanika dodging airport authorities. Instead, he said that she did the test at the airport and nothing was reported at that point in time.
As the whole world is fighting against this deadly disease, it is heartbreaking to see how many are refusing to follow the guidelines and putting themselves, their family, and the entire society at risk.
