According to the media, the girl, who belongs to Haldwani’s Rajpura, was already engaged. But, the bride threw a massive tantrum when she discovered the lehenga that the groom’s family had bought for her cost “only” Rs. 10,000.
Though the groom’s family claimed that they purchased her lehenga “exclusively” from Lucknow. As per The New Indian Express, the girl’s marriage was prearranged with a healthcare worker.
In June, the couple got engaged and the marriage was planned for 5th November. Not only the cards were created but also distributed. On the date of the marriage, all the wedding preparations were done. But, when the bride saw the lehenga bought by the groom, she refused to marry him.
According to the local reports, the groom’s father even gave the bride his ATM card to purchase the lehenga of her choice. But, the bride refused. After hours of fighting, the matter appeared in front of Kotwali police. Though the police made relentless attempts to settle the dispute, they failed. After fighting for hours, the two parties finally arrived at a decision that it was “all over.”Finally, the marriage was terminated for both parties.
