A 5-year-old getting rape threats over his father’s bad cricket performance is just another reminder of our toxic misogyny among men. Recently, when MS Dhoni’s IPL team CSK (Chennai SuperKings) failed to chase down the target of 168 set by KKR, he hardly knew that his daughter would have to bear the brunt of his team’s loss.
In a disturbing incident, while hundreds trolled Dhoni, there were some tweets and Facebook posts targeting Dhoni’s five-year-old daughter. What would break your heart is the fact that these were threats of rape and physical violence.
After Wednesday’s loss, these threats allegedly appeared on Dhoni and his wife Sakshi’s Instagram accounts.
Many Twitter users came forward to share their utmost shock with the incident. These threats are just another reminder of deep-seated misogyny. We live in a country, where a rape is reported every 16 minutes. Though many netizens are calling out these trolls, it is hardly going to stop them.

Not only doing rape but even thinking about it and commenting is a crime. Openly such horrific activities are going around us and even on social sites but no one is ready to take action against such people and that’s the reason so many rapes take place.
