In the times when the whole world is under lockdown to battle the deadly virus, there are few real heroes who are leading this battle from the forefront.
While we have the luxury to stay at home with our family members, our doctors and nurses don’t. With the commitment to their profession and country, our doctors and nurses are relentlessly working to save the lives of millions while putting themselves in danger.
The least that we can do for them is to show some respect and support them in performing their duties. But, while they were performing their duties, some elements of our society left no stone unturned in making their lives miserable. This is how some people from our own country are treating them:
Forceful eviction of Doctors
Or, Stones Being Thrown At Them
Or, Doctors Beaten For No Fault Of Theirs
While a few days back, we were beating utensils in order to honor doctors and nurses effort:

Now, a segment of us, are pelting stones on them:
Spine-chilling scenes from Indore. And we were applauding the same doctors and health professionals barely a week ago.
India CANNOT fight this war at two fronts. @narendramodi must direct the army to protect our doctors so they can protect us. pic.twitter.com/G52Pp6YKoz

What has changed in the past few days that we are now attacking and harassing the same people we once applauded?
We are scared now, we were scared then. We are in panic now, we were in panic then. Our doctors and nurses were working day in, day out then, they are doing that even now.
The only thing that has changed is the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. But, that means we have to be more careful and more cooperative. But, rather we have started assaulting the same people who are risking their lives to save ours.
While Healthcare professionals were already stressed about contracting the disease while treating their patients, now the physical attacks have made things worse for them.
It is shameful how we can attack our own saviours.
Feeling extremely disheartened for the heartless society that we are serving
No whataboutry about petty Hindu-Muslim drama will take away the heavy feeling in my heart
Doctors and nurses are literally putting their lives on the lines and you attack them?!
Fuck you!

Attack on a doctor by patient/patient party should be treated as terrorism. We should have a law on this.

After these attacks, the doctors are asking for increased protection. This is a matter of shame for the entire nation.
The same nation that left no stone unturned in thanking the doctors for doing an exemplary job.
Attack on healthcare workers is the most despicable act. They are putting their lives at risk for us. The statement of a healthcare worker that they would have been lynched had police not been with them is telling. It makes one think do we really deserve such heroes?

But, what gives us hope is the determination and courage of these heroes.
At IFORHER, we salute these real heroes and hope we soon understand that it would be very difficult to win the battle if we try to harm those protecting us.
