Recently, Andrea Kevichüsa came to Kapil Sharma’s show to promote her film ‘Anek.’ And, as she walked onto the stage, Kapil Sharma, being Kapil Sharma, immediately channeled his internalized misogyny and commented “I am from Punjab. Mu mein na naam phas raha hain. Can I just call you beautiful?” Seriously, this is so ew!
We wonder what hell is wrong with this guy! This remark is extremely derogatory, sexist, and borderline racist. And, can someone tell this guy to stop projecting Punjabis as ignorant and regressive fools? Because they are not!
Many netizens were quick to point out how “Can I call you beautiful?” is the most used pick-up line. And, how there are so many young girls and women, who are harassed on roads by passersby as they call them “Hey, beautiful”.
Thankfully, Andrea quickly put Kapil in his place and demanded he treats her with respect by addressing her by her first name.

It’s so shocking how a host can struggle to remember his guest’s name? At the end of the day, it’s a name! If as a host, you can’t get the name of your guest right, then maybe you don’t deserve to be a television host!
