It is heartbreaking how people promote regressive thought-process in the name of Indian culture, traditions, and customs. Even though we are living in the 21st century, still many follow traditions that stem from the patriarchal mindset.
Recently a Twitter user @RetardedHurt, asked women what’s stopping them from touching the feet of their husbands to #bringbackindiantradition. And it’s not surprising that many came forward to shut this rudimentary thought down.
Dear girls, what is stopping you from doing this to your man? #bringbackindiantradition pic.twitter.com/Z1bMfpQOqZ

Many netizens found his tweet regressive and responded to his query in a very sassy way. Here are a few of them:
The realisation that our place is not at our husbands’ feet but shoulder to shoulder as equal partners in a relationship that makes both parties stronger. https://t.co/F2XFqa4xH2

This is bogus. Not everything in tradition is logical and worth emulating. What makes the feet of your man more respectable than his nose or bum? Patriarchy written over all of it.

This can be done if Hisband also touches feet of his wife . Rama krishna Paramhansa used to do that . Sadly we adopt based on convinience and that gives opportunity to left fake liberals to mock traditions.

Why not for a change let men do this to women. If our tradition is wrong then its better get rid of it rather than sticking to it. #bringbackindiantradition
