For a very long time, matrimonial ads have been under scrutiny for their ridiculous and weird expectations and demands. With the help of social media, many matrimonial ads have been called out for their misogynistic, casteist, and regressive conditions that almost leave you disgusted. No one can deny that matrimonial ads and their weird conditions give an honest insight into arranged marriages in India.
Matrimonial ad asking software engineers to not call goes viral
Recently, a matrimonial ad went viral on Twitter for its weird disclaimer or condition. In the end, the matrimonial ad mentioned – “Software engineers kindly do not call.”
The family, who has put this ad, is seeking a groom with an IAS/IPS, business, industrial, or doctor background. So, in short, they are fine with everyone but not a software engineer.
While we have seen many ads stating that they need a fair and beautiful girl with rich family background, it’s our first that states ‘Software engineers kindly do not call.” As per the ad, the groom should either be an “IAS/IPS, a working doctor, or an industrialist, from the same caste”
