Parenting isn’t easy. There are so many issues that modern parents have to deal with. And, sadly, that’s the reason why it has been a constant subject of debate and criticism.
Recently parents of an eight-year-old boy, from Hunan Province in central China, came under fire when a video of their punishing their kid in an unconventional way went viral.
As per various sources, the child was left at home as his parents went out. His parents asked him to finish his homework and go to bed by 8.30 p.m. local time. However, when the parents returned home, they found out that the child had not finished his homework. And, he was still glued to the television. This incident left the parents enraged.
After the parents returned home, the boy went to bed. But, his mother got him back to the living room and turned on the TV. The parents forced their kid to watch TV all night to teach him the lesson.
Though the child looks relaxed initially, with time, he starts struggling to keep his eyes open. His parents took turns to make sure that he stays awake. As per the sources, the parents did not allow the child to go to bed until around 5 a.m.

While the kid may have learned his lesson, the incident definitely initiated an online debate about parenting.
