Fat-shamed on various occasions, we wonder why our society is so insensitive when it comes to fat-shaming women?
Why women are looked down upon with disgust for not fitting in the society’s unrealistic obsession of zero figure? And, it won’t surprise you that people, especially men, who themselves are hardly fit won’t miss a chance to fat-shame women!
The harsh, ugly and negative fat-shaming comments that we struggled with, shows how society wouldn’t leave a single chance to fat-shame a woman.
Though many of us stay silent, this brave woman took a stand for every woman around the world who have been fat-shamed.
In Brazil, while addressing a large gathering during a sermon, a well-renowned priest made a heart-breaking statement – ‘fat women don’t go to heaven’.
According to reports, after listening to the statement, the woman, who was initially sitting in the audience lost her calm and rushed past the security to push the priest off the stage.
As per India Today, the incident happened when Father Marcelo Rossi was addressing the audience on the mic during a live broadcast. And it was all caught on camera.
The 5-second video has obviously gone viral on the internet with the caption:
“She shoved him because he said fat women won’t go to heaven,”

The incident left the audience in horror as they couldn’t process what happened since things moved rather rapidly on the stage. After he was pushed, the priest said:
“Don’t worry, I’m fine, just some mild pain. That’s normal, nothing’s broken. Amen.”
Though the woman got arrested initially, as the priest was unharmed he did not press any charges. So, she was later released.
Many women and men took to the internet to declare this woman as a HERO!

At I FOR HER, we feel it is high time that our society understands how fat-shaming feeds the stigma and discrimination against overweight people that affects them in the worst way possible.
Some believe that making overweight people feel ashamed of their weight or eating habits may motivate them to get healthier.
