Even though we are living in the 21st century, it is heartbreaking to see how many people in an influencing position making bizarre and regressive comments about women’s bodies and sexuality.
After the self-proclaimed godman Jaggi Vasudev, and the Gujarati godman (who said women who cook during periods are reborn as kutri), Indonesia’s senior child protection official, Sitti Hikmawatty made a comment that will drive you crazy.
As per The Independent, the bizarre statement was made by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) health officer. She claimed that woman can become pregnant by swimming in the same pool with men with strong sperms even without penetration if they ejaculate their sperms in water.

“There is an especially strong type of male sperm that may cause pregnancy in a swimming pool. Even without penetration, men may become sexually excited (by women in the pool) and ejaculate, therefore causing a pregnancy.
If women are in a phase where they are sexually active, (such a pregnancy) may occur. No one knows for sure how men react to the sight of women in a swimming pool”.
But as far as doctors are concerned, they have rubbished all her claims. A medical officer from Doctors’ association told Daily Mail.
“Once again, I remind you, if you do not understand health problems, it’s better to be quiet. Instead of your comments causing anxiety and panic.”
As many came forward to commend the bizarre statement, Hikmawatty issued a public apology and said that the statement was her own and did not represent the organization – the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI).
However, many netizens are calling for her resignation since the claims have gone viral and have caused a lot of embarrassment.
