Even though we live in 21st century, there are still many husbands and in-laws who treat women not more than servants. They expect women to sacrifice her needs and dreams for them. And, it is so prevalent that even our TV shows don’t shy away from showing characters demanding women to sacrifice herself for the family in name of sanskaars.
Recently, netizens pointed out one such regressive TV scene that promoted patriarchy mindset without any shame. As per the sources, this problematic scene belonged to the TV show – Saath Nibhana Saathiya. Though this scene pretended to be about true love; it turned out to be about misogynistic and patriarchal mindset that many women face.
A husband tries to wake her wife from coma by reminding her the domestic chores that she hasn’t performed yet ….because she is in coma? He actually demands his unconscious wife to wake up from coma and stop the drama.
??? He cannot be real pic.twitter.com/X2L6r6SKg4

made a horrible decision of looking into the levels of misogyny, complete entitlement and lack of self realisation to write such a scene https://t.co/uXIT3tmxdU
