Recently, Priyanka Chopra Jonas dropped ‘Chopra Jonas’ from her name on Twitter and Instagram. And, within no time, the social media users went into overdrive with speculation that the couple – Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas are heading for divorce.
While many media houses carried the story but what piqued our interest was the quality of many of the comments on social media. These social media comments not only made fun of the couple but were also misogynistic, regressive and insensitive!

Meanwhile, a friend of Priyanka and her mother has squashed the rumours and called them bogus. Revealing that rumours of Priyanka and Nick Jonas heading for divorce is false, the friend added:
“These divorce rumours are all amusing. Priyanka is using her first name because she wants to use that in her future projects. There is no truth to any other speculation. Also, she’s not only dropped ‘Jonas’ but ‘Chopra’ as well on social media.”
It’s funny how someone’s surname can be a big issue for other people. We wonder how people could be so insensitive and disgusting, to see ‘divorce rumour’ as an opportunity to make fun of the couple. What do you think?
