Dear Bollywood, Will You Ever Learn? Vijay Raaz As Transwoman In Gangubai Raises Debate

While we have seen bollywood picking up some strong topics to make movies recently, but one thing which baffles us is – Why our film-makers cannot shed their own inhibitions? Why can’t a real transgender play the role of  a transgender in hindi movies?

Since ages, we have seen men playing transgender roles, while being dressed up as women. Earlier this year we saw Vaani Kapoor playing the role of a transgender in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, and now we have Vijay Raaz playing a transgender in upcoming movie Gangubai Kathiawadi.

The debate got sparked after the trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi came out, and we saw Vijay Raaz essaying the role of a transgender woman. While people are applauding Vijay Raaz’s acting, but this portrayal has led to many questioning the film-makers about their inclusivity.
