Real Hero: Journalist Loses Life While Saving Female Colleague From Molesters At Dhaba In Jaipur

No one can deny that the crimes against women are on a rampant increase. With increasing violence against women and kids, we need more men to come forward and take a stand against it. We want more men to raise their voices against such crimes and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.

Unfortunately, when 27-year-old Jaipur-based journalist Abhishek Soni tried to protect her female colleague from the harassment, he paid a heavy price.

As per India Today, the incident took place on December 8. As per the reports, when three men harassed a female colleague, Abhishek took a stand for her. He tried to protect her and in the process, he got attacked with batons and iron rods.

Sadly, on Wednesday, he succumbed to his injuries and died at SMS hospital. As per NDTV quoted Station House Officer (SHO) Dilip Kumar, Man Sarovar Police Station, saying,

“Two journalists had gone to a dhaba to eat at 11:30 pm. Three other persons came on a motorcycle to the same place. Later on, there was a fight between the journalists and the other three persons. After the fight, the journalist named Abhishek Soni sustained a head injury after which he was admitted to the hospital. He subsequently died. We have got some clues to identify attackers based on CCTV footage. They will be soon caught.”

Ajay Pal Lamba, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) further added;

“We managed to get CCTV footage of the incident. We have arrested one of the accused [Shankar Choudhary]. Remaining two [Kanaram Jat and Surender Jat] will also be soon arrested. They are currently absconding. We have formed police teams to nab them.”

At IFORHER, we are heartbroken how we lost a brave soul like Abhishek Soni. We hope the accused would be caught soon and pray for the strength and courage of his family to bear the heavy pain of losing their young son!
