One such moment happened yesterday when Smriti Irani, the actress turned politician sent out an extremely powerful message – the message that wrote a brand new chapter for Indian Women.

After defeating Mr. Rahul Gandhi in his home turf Amethi, Smriti Irani gave us another moment to celebrate her persistence and determination.

Unfortunately, Smriti’s very close aide, who helped her win in the recent elections was shot dead couple of days back.

When Smriti attended his funeral, she not only showed how compassionate and empathetic she is, but also sent across the message about women empowerment to the whole country.

Since centuries, women have been barred from participating in funerals. But, when Smriti turned into the pallbearer, the one who carries or officially escorts the coffin or the dead body at a funeral, she made us believe that there is a brighter future ahead of us!

This picture is worth zillion times more than the empty words served by media, politicians, and celebrities!

In traditional Hindu families, women are not allowed to attend funerals.

The traditions run so deep in some Hindu families that having only daughters are seen as a result of bad karmas.
