India’s Proud Moment

In another proud moment, Flt Lt Bhawana Kanth, amongst the first three women fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force (IAF), will also be a part of the Republic Day Parade. This is the first time a woman fighter pilot will be part of the parade.

As per the Hindustan Times, Flt Lt Bhawana Kanth will be the part of the tableau, that will be presenting the mock-ups of the light combat aircraft, light combat helicopter, and the Sukhoi-30 fighter plane.

Bhawana Kanth: The Soul Inspiring Millions

While sharing her excitement on such a proud moment, Bhawana told India Today:

“Since my childhood, I have been watching Republic Day parade on television and it’s a matter of pride that now I’m participating in it. I would love to fly other fighter jets, including Rafale and Sukhoi”

The 28-year-old was among the first women fighter pilots, along with Avani Chaturvedi and Mohana Singh, to be inducted into the IAF in 2016.

Bhawana, who belongs to Bihar’s Darbhanga, was born in Begusarai. She completed her schooling at Barauni Refinery DAV Public School. Later, she went and completed her higher education from the college in Bengaluru, according to a report. In 2017, Bhawna joined the fighter squadron in November 2017, and later, turned operational in March 2018.
