Kangana’s First Look As An IAF Pilot In ‘Tejas’ Is Winning Hearts; She Dedicates It To Brave-Hearted Women In Uniform

After winning our hearts with her film Panga, Kangana is making heads turn with the first look of her next movie – Tejas.

Being a rebel, Kangana is well-known for playing characters that fight the social norms on the big screen. And, once again she is set to do just that. Kangana will appear as an Indian Air Force pilot in her upcoming film Tejas.

The Indian Air Force was the first of the country’s defense forces to induct women into combat roles in 2016. The film takes inspiration from this landmark event.

While taking to Twitter, Kangana team shared the first look of her next film – Tejas with a beautiful caption:

“For all the brave-hearted and strong-headed women in Uniform who make sacrifices for our nation day in and day out.”

The beautiful film, which is a military drama, is being directed by Sarvesh Mewara. While we are eager to know more about the film, no one can deny how Kangana is nailing the look of a tough-as-nails IAF pilot.

According to the makers, the story of Tejas reinforces the argument that when it comes to serving the nation, both men and women are equally capable of doing so – all they need is the right opportunity and a determined spirit.

Speaking of the project, Kangana told Mumbai Mirror,

“Very often, the sacrifices made by our brave women in uniform go unnoticed by the nation. Tejas is a film where I have the honour of playing the role of one such Air Force pilot who puts country before self. I hope we instill a sense of patriotism and pride in the youth of today with this movie. I’m looking forward to the journey with Sarvesh and Ronnie on this one.”

Expressing his excitement for the project, the producer Ronnie Screwvala stated,

“We made an army-centric/army-based film with ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’. ‘Tejas’ is our dedication to the brave fighter pilots of the Indian Air Force, who always put the country first. We are excited and honoured to share this brave story with viewers and hope it inspires many more women to join the Air Force.”
