What Is Reporting Live About?
Reporting Live follows Sandhya, an ambitious young journalist, and Vinod, her experienced cameraman. What initially appears to be a promising reporting lead takes the duo into the murky world of illegal sand mining, where a powerful mafia is determined to keep its operations and the crimes surrounding them hidden.
As Sandhya and Vinod continue investigating, they move increasingly closer to the people who do not want the story exposed. Their search for the truth soon becomes far more dangerous than the assignment they originally set out to cover, turning the film into a high-stakes investigative thriller centred on journalism, crime and the risks of confronting powerful interests.
Reporting Live Cast
Parineeti Chopra leads the film as the young reporter, while Deven Bhojani plays the experienced cameraman accompanying her investigation. The ensemble also includes veteran actors Amol Palekar, Adil Hussain and Shekhar Suman.
The pairing of Chopra and Bhojani is one of the film’s notable elements, bringing together performers from different generations in roles unlike their more familiar screen appearances.
Who Directed Reporting Live?
Reporting Live is directed by Dhruv Tripathi, who has co-written the screenplay with Mihir Jadhav. The film is produced by Partha Kiran Thakur and Joshua Shirsath.
Tripathi has said that he had been living with the story for around seven years and wanted to create a thriller that remained grounded while keeping ordinary people at the centre of its narrative.
