If your Prime Video watchlist is always full, 2026 is looking seriously exciting. From gangster sagas and revenge thrillers to zombie campus chaos, supernatural madness and mystery-loaded dramas, Amazon Prime Video has a very promising slate lined up. Some of these titles are direct-to-streaming releases, while others are expected to land on Prime Video after their theatrical run — and honestly, we’re already seated for all of them.
Here are the upcoming movies on Prime Video we are super excited about.
1. O Romeo
One of the biggest titles arriving first is O Romeo, Vishal Bhardwaj’s gritty crime drama starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri. The film is set in Bombay, 1994, and follows Ustara, a feared hitman whose dangerous life gets tangled with Afshan, a widow seeking revenge against the men who destroyed her love.
What follows is a dark, violent and emotionally intense tale of betrayal, gang wars and vengeance. The film is expected to arrive on Amazon Prime Video Store on March 27, 2026 for rent, followed by a wider streaming release for subscribers around the second week of April 2026. Honestly, this one already feels like a must-watch for crime-thriller lovers.
2. Mirzapur: The Movie
After becoming one of the most loved and talked-about Indian web series, Mirzapur is now making its way to the big screen with Mirzapur: The Movie. Starring Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu and more, the film promises to expand the gritty, power-hungry and blood-soaked world fans are already obsessed with.
If the series taught us anything, it’s that Mirzapur never does anything halfway – and that’s exactly why this movie has sky-high hype. The film is officially set for a September 4, 2026 theatrical release, and while its Prime Video streaming date hasn’t been announced yet, it is one of the most anticipated post-theatrical arrivals we’ll be waiting for.
3. Sundar Poonam
Sundar Poonam instantly grabbed attention with its haunting first look. The teaser introduces Sanya Malhotra as Poonam, a bride dressed in a blood-red lehenga, smiling calmly into the mirror – but clearly hiding something far darker beneath the surface.
The mystery kicks in when a fictional news report reveals that newlyweds Sundar and Poonam have gone missing during their Kashmir honeymoon. That setup alone is enough to make this one impossible to ignore. With suspense, secrets and a twisted love story at its core, this Prime Video original already looks like one of the platform’s most intriguing thrillers.
4. Phoolan
Phoolan is easily one of the most intense-sounding upcoming Amazon Originals. Directed by Richie Mehta, the film reportedly focuses on a terrifying 48-hour siege in the life of Phoolan Devi, where she is surrounded by thousands of armed men in the Chambal region. Just the premise alone sounds gripping, raw and emotionally heavy.
If handled right, this could be one of Prime Video’s most powerful and unforgettable original films in the coming lineup.
5. College Fest
If you love your horror with a crazy comic twist, College Fest could be your next binge-worthy obsession. Marking Ashish Chanchlani’s Prime Video debut with TVF, this upcoming film is a zombie horror-comedy set inside an engineering college campus.
A mysterious infection turns students into zombies, and suddenly the entire fest spirals into total chaos. It sounds fun, fresh, wild and very Gen-Z-coded — which honestly makes it stand out from the usual horror setup. This one could end up being an unexpected crowd favourite.
6. DQ41
DQ41 is another title that already sounds like a beautiful emotional mystery. Starring Dulquer Salmaan and Pooja Hegde in their first-ever collaboration, this Telugu romantic drama revolves around a “girl with no past” whose buried memories return to threaten her future.
That setup instantly gives it a dreamy, layered and emotional feel. With Dulquer’s track record in romantic dramas and a premise built on memory, identity and love, this is exactly the kind of film that could quietly become a fan favourite once it lands on Prime Video after its theatrical run.
7. Naagzilla
Now this one looks like pure big-screen madness — and we mean that in the best way. Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand, starring Kartik Aaryan, is a supernatural creature-comedy where he plays an ichchhadhari naag. Yes, it’s dramatic. Yes, it’s over-the-top. And yes, we absolutely want to watch it.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026, the film is expected to stream on Prime Video after its cinema run. If the makers lean fully into the fun, fantasy and chaos, this could become one of the wildest OTT arrivals later this year
8. Vvan – Force of the Forest
Vvan – Force of the Forest already sounds like the kind of high-concept thriller that can either surprise everyone or completely take over conversations online. Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film blends folklore, mythology and supernatural tension with a story about a rational man confronting forces he cannot explain.
Add high-end VFX and a forest-driven mystery to the mix, and this one already has major visual appeal. It is slated for theatrical release on August 28, 2026 and is expected to stream on Prime Video after that.
9. Don’t Be Shy
Don’t Be Shy sounds like the kind of relatable coming-of-age film that could quietly win hearts. The story follows a young woman whose perfectly planned life suddenly begins to spiral into unpredictability, pushing her into situations she never imagined for herself.
As things fall apart, she slowly learns how to deal with change, uncertainty and self-discovery. With humour, emotional chaos and a journey that feels deeply human, this one could become a very bingeable comfort watch.
10. Mess
Mess has such a deliciously chaotic setup that it instantly earns a place on this list. A group of robbers break into a house expecting an easy job, only to find themselves trapped in a situation that quickly spirals out of control. As the night unfolds, survival becomes more important than the robbery itself. It sounds tense, funny, weird and unpredictable — basically the perfect recipe for a dark comedy thriller that could become a surprise hit on Prime Video.
