The Revolutionaries, an upcoming historical drama created and directed by Nikkhil Advani, is set to bring a lesser-known chapter of India’s freedom struggle to the screen. Starring Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada, the series follows young revolutionaries who chose armed resistance against British rule. Based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom, the show will explore their fight for freedom along with the friendships, risks and sacrifices behind it.

The Revolutionaries Story & Plot
The series focuses on a group of young revolutionaries who attempt to organise resistance against the British Empire during India’s freedom struggle. Instead of concentrating only on the most familiar figures from the independence movement, the story brings attention to revolutionaries whose contributions are comparatively less widely known.
While the freedom struggle forms the backdrop, The Revolutionaries is being presented as a character-driven action drama. The series will explore friendship, rebellion, courage, betrayal and sacrifice, while showing the difficult personal choices faced by people who decided to fight British rule.
The Revolutionaries Cast & Crew
Bhuvan Bam plays revolutionary leader Rash Behari Bose, while Rohit Saraf portrays Sachindra Nath Sanyal. Pratibha Ranta plays Pratibha Lahiri, and Gurfateh Pirzada appears as Bagha Jatin. Jason Shah, Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury are also part of the supporting cast.
The series has been created and directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment. Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta have written the series.
The Revolutionaries OTT Release Date and Streaming Details
Unlike several upcoming series that are still waiting for confirmed streaming dates, The Revolutionaries already has an official premiere date. The historical drama will begin streaming exclusively on Prime Video from September 11, 2026. Viewers will be able to watch the series in Hindi as well as multiple dubbed Indian languages.
