People Trolling Dia Mirza For Second Marriage Reveals How Toxic Our Society Is

Even though it is the 21st century, it is heartbreaking how women are still shamed, harassed, and insulted for their choice to remarry. Recently, when Dia Mirza tied knot for the second time, she became the victim of shameful bullying that shows how our society hates women rebuilding her life.

In August 2019, Dia Mirza and her former husband Sahil Sangha announced the news of their separation. They shared how the couple had mutually decided to part ways and lead separate lives.

But in course of fateful events, Dia Mirza has found love again in Vaibhav Rekhi. On February 15, Dia Mirza tied the knot with Vaibhav Rekhi in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai.

The couple, who began dating last year, got married in the garden area of Dia’s Bandra residence, in a ceremony attended by family and close friends including actor Aditi Rao Hydari and Jackky Bhagnani.

In a series of posts that comprise gorgeous pictures from the beautiful wedding, Dia Mirza shared: “Love is a full-circle that we call home. And what a miracle it is to hear its knock, open the door, and be found by it.”

While many were extremely happy about how Dia Mirza found love again, many shamelessly insulted and trolled Dia for her decision to remarry.

Though some good netizens came forward to stop people from bashing her up for making a choice that requires a lot of courage and strength.

At IFORHER, we feel heartbroken how our society is so quick to judge and shame the woman, embarking on a journey to find love and happiness again. These hurtful comments are just a reflection of how our patriarchal society feels threatened and insulted when a woman attempts to lead a life on her own terms. As we wish Dia loads of luck and happiness, hope her strength to lead a life on her own terms will inspire many more!
