Myntra Changing Logo After Women Files Complaint Calling It ‘Insulting’; Netizens Have Mixed Reactions

In a recent announcement, Flipkart-owned e-commerce brand Myntra has decided to change its logo. This announcement came after a Mumbai-based activist filed a complaint alleging that the Myntra logo was a symbol of insult and offense towards women.

Naaz Patel, who runs an NGO called Avesta Foundation, is the woman behind this change. In her complaint, that she filed in the state cyber police in December, Patel alleged that the logo resembled a naked woman.

Naaz Patel reportedly asked the e-commerce platform to remove the logo. She warned them of appropriate action against the company in case they failed in implementing the suggested changes. As the company didn’t take the request seriously, the activist filed the complaint.

After the complaint, the police sent an e-mail to Myntra about the development. Now, the company has agreed to change the logo in a month’s time. DCP Rashmi Karandikar, Cyber Crime Department of Mumbai police told India Today.

“We found that the logo was offensive in nature for women. Following the complaint, we sent an email to Myntra and their officials came and met us. The officials said they will change the logo in a month’s time.”

While Myntra is still in the process to unveil its new logo in public, the company has allegedly placed orders for the printing of packaging materials with the new design.

Meanwhile, netizens on Twitter had a mixed reaction:
