Alia Trolled For Not Looking Married Enough; People Shamed Her For Looking Ordinary

Why do married women have to “look married”? Why is a married woman expected to be a walking, talking platform to showcase her marital status? While men are burdened with no expectation to show off they are married, women are supposed to dress a certain way to make sure that the world knows that they are married!

Sadly, our regressive society suffers from a serious illness of not letting women do their thing. And, the recent proof is the shameless comments on pictures of Alia Bhatt that call her out for not wearing sindoor or chooda or other “markers” of marriage. Recently, Alia Bhatt married Ranbir Kapoor and as she made her first public appearance, people trolled her for not looking married enough.

It is sad how even in the 21st century, people believe that a woman is obligated to dress the way they want her to. It is sad how even our so-called modern society still holds these regressive ideas of what a married woman should look like!

Dear society, it is 2022, and no women need to prove her marital status to anyone. If a married woman wants to wear sindoor or chooda or bangles, it is totally her choice. So, please stop trolling or shaming women for not fulfilling your expectations of how they should look. Because it’s their choice, not yours!

This whole thing is highly sexist and needs to be done away with. Do let us know what you think!
