Based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu and Pushpa Palat, this movie dives deep into a courtroom battle that rocked the British Empire. Akshay Kumar plays C. Sankaran Nair, an Indian lawyer who’s initially brought in by the British to “look into” the horrific Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
But plot twist: once Nair uncovers the truth – that General Dyer gave the horrific order to open fire on peaceful protesters – he flips the script. Instead of helping the British sweep it under the rug, Nair sues them. Yes, sues. The entire government and Dyer. Talk about guts.

Akshay Kumar leads the stellar cast of the film with his impressive and powerful acting. Pargat Singh (played by newcomer Krish Rao) is a fiery young freedom fighter. Ananya Panday in a career-defining role as Dilreet Gill flawlessly plays a passionate law student who’s done playing by colonial rules.
Together, they go head-to-head with Neville McKinley (R. Madhavan), a sharp-tongued Anglo-Indian lawyer who’s got a major vendetta and isn’t afraid to play dirty.
