10 New Movies Releasing This Week on OTT (August 24 – 30)
1. Babita Singh Reporting (Prime Video, August 28)
Rookie cop Babita “Baby” Singh deliberately gets herself suspended so she can return home for her sister-in-law’s baby shower. Her visit turns into something far more serious when childhood friend Bansi is murdered, pushing Babita into a secret investigation of her own. As she follows the clues, family betrayals and long-hidden secrets begin coming dangerously close to home.
2. Motor City (Prime Video & Apple TV, August 25)
John Miller is a factory worker in 1970s Detroit whose life collapses after falling for a gangster’s girlfriend and being framed for a crime he did not commit. Years behind bars leave him with one clear goal when he finally walks free: revenge. Alan Ritchson leads the action drama alongside Ben Foster, Shailene Woodley, Pablo Schreiber, Lionel Boyce and Amar Chadha-Patel.
3. Bandar (ZEE5, August 28)
Television actor Samar Mehra sees his already fading career destroyed when a former girlfriend accuses him of rape. After public judgment turns brutal, he lands inside an overcrowded prison while his sister tries to fight what appears to be an unfair legal system from outside. Bobby Deol leads this Anurag Kashyap-directed crime drama about accusation, media pressure and justice.
4. The Last Sunrise (Prime Video, August 26)
College student Ry meets Julián during a summer in Mallorca and finds an unexpected romance while living with a chronic illness. Their relationship comes under pressure when Ry’s protective mother tries to buy Julián’s family land for a hotel project, just as Ry’s health begins getting worse. Maia Reficco, Fernando Lindez and Eva Longoria star in this adaptation of Anna Todd’s 2025 novel.
5. Michael (JioHotstar, August 29)
This biopic follows Michael Jackson from his childhood years with the Jackson 5 to the stage where he becomes a global music superstar during the Bad World Tour. Alongside the fame, the film also looks at his difficult relationship with his father Joseph Jackson and the physical and emotional pressure of living under constant attention. Jaafar Jackson plays Michael, with Colman Domingo also starring.
6. Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall (Prime Video & Apple TV, August 25)
Bane begins his attack on Batman by releasing dangerous criminals from Arkham Asylum and forcing Bruce Wayne to chase them while already being pushed towards exhaustion. After surviving one enemy after another, Batman must still confront the mastermind whose real goal is to break him completely. The animated film begins a three-part adaptation of the famous Knightfall storyline and is available to buy or rent.
7. Anbe Diana (SonyLIV, August 28)
CSK has quietly loved his free-spirited neighbour Diana since their school days, but finally winning her heart does not make their relationship easy. Their romance soon has to survive cultural differences, opposing family expectations and old tensions within their Chennai neighbourhood. Pari Elavazhagan and Ramya Ranganathan lead the romantic comedy alongside Roja, Chetan and Parithabangal Gopi.
8. I, Nobody (JioHotstar, August 25)
Rajeevan’s routine life as a government employee collapses after nearly INR 17 crore disappears during a bank robbery and he unexpectedly becomes a key suspect. With the alleged robbers dead, the money missing and his marriage with Meera under growing pressure, Rajeevan finds himself trapped between the police and others hunting for the cash. The crisis becomes even more personal when his daughter Jia is kidnapped, leaving him desperate to uncover both where she is and what really happened to the stolen money.
9. The Secret Woman (Netflix, August 28)
Louise’s quiet life on a Norwegian island falls apart when a stranger insists that she is actually Helene Söderberg, a woman who vanished from Denmark three years earlier. Faced with the possibility that her entire identity may be false, Louise travels to Denmark to uncover what happened and why a husband and young son were left behind. The search leads to secrets capable of changing everything she believes about herself.
10. The Whisper Man (Netflix, August 28)
Widowed crime writer Tom Kennedy is thrown into a terrifying investigation when his eight-year-old son is abducted. He joins forces with his estranged father, a former police officer, and DI Amanda Beck, only to discover that the kidnapping may be connected to an old case involving the convicted serial killer known as the Whisper Man. Adam Scott, Robert De Niro and Michelle Monaghan lead this dark crime thriller.
