Not just in India, the movie received many accolades in the West, along with the prestigious Golden Globes and Oscars nominations. In recent times, SS Rajamouli was announced as the winner of the New York Film Critics Circle Awards for Best Director. SS Rajmouli’s outstanding success has come at a time when many big-budget movies like Laal Singh Chaddha, Samrat Prithviraj, Ram Setu, and Shamshera failed miserably at the box office.

In one of his recent interviews, Rajamouli reflected on what went wrong with Bollywood this year. During the Filmmakers’ Adda conversation by Film Companion, SS Rajamouli opened up about how filmmakers get ‘complacent’ once their movies do well at the box office.
