What is Bhujangasana

“Bhujanasana”, the word comes from two Sanskrit words, ‘Bhujang’ meaning Serpent or Snake and ‘Asana’ meaning Pose. Let us have a closer look at the benefits that Bhujangasana offers to a body:

Though there are a lot of benefits that Bhujanasan has, there are some exceptions too. Therefore one must consult a physician before adopting this asana in daily life. For Instance, a person having back injury, pregnancy, headache, or carpal tunnel syndrome, should avoid it. A few benefits of Bhujangasana are listed below:

1. Eliminates extra fat

One of the benefits of Bhujanasana is that it can reduce the extra fat in the body. Especially around the abdomen area and can also help in burning calories in turn making the muscles more flexible. It also helps to boost metabolism resulting in the burning of calories. The benefit of Bhujanasana also includes the toning of the buttocks and spinal muscles.

Practising Bhujangasana also helps in eliminating the problem of acidity by boosting the production of digestive fluids which makes the absorption of food easy.
